University of Glasgow is offering Sir Fitzroy Maclean Travel scholarships for undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students. Scholarships support students who undertake travel in order to develop an existing skill or learn a new one (e.g. attend a Summer School or a Language School, etc). To be eligible applicants must be a registered student at the University of Glasgow or a student who graduated in the year of application for the scholarship. The application deadline is 1 June, 2014.. The University of Glasgow is pleased to award 7 Sir Fitzroy Maclean Travel scholarships to support students undertaking travel in order to develop an existing skill or learn a new one (e.g. attend a Summer School or a Language School, etc). Sir Fitzroy Maclean was a Scottish soldier, author and politician. Awarded an Honorary degree of DLitt from the University in 1969, Sir Fitzroy Maclean had a long relationship with the University before he died in 1996. In 1997 a scholarship with respect to Sir Fitzroy’s interests and passions, and lecture series were created in his memory.. Scholarships are available for undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students for attending a Summer School or a language school at a partner university in one of the countries linked to Sir Fitzroy’s interests: Georgia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.

Duration: The award is for one year and must be used in the year of the award; it cannot be defer or transfer. Funding is paid in 2 installments: 75% before departure on presentation of enrollment or acceptance at the partner University; 25% on return and on presentation of a report on their project.
