The Rhodes Scholarship for Students of Bermuda, 2013 UK

Each year, there is one Scholarship available in Bermuda to enable an outstanding student – chosen on the basis of exceptional intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service – to study at the University of Oxford. The first Rhodes Scholar from Bermuda was selected to come to Oxford in 1904, and since that time nearly 100 students from Bermuda have been awarded this prestigious scholarship.

-You must be a Bermudian or British Subject. The candidate, or either one of his/her parents (or guardians), must have been resident in Bermuda for at least five consecutive years immediately preceding 1st January of the year for which the Scholarship is to be awarded. -Periods of absence for the purposes of education are disregarded. -In the case of a British Subject who is not a Bermudian, he/she, or either one of his/her parents (or guardians), must also have been resident in Bermuda for a total of at least ten years. -In the event that both of a candidate’s parents (or guardians) are dead, the residency requirement must have been satisfied immediately prior to their death; b. A candidate who satisfies the citizenship qualification in other Rhodes constituencies may not apply for a Scholarship in more than one such constituency; c. You must have been educated in Bermuda for at least five years;
