The Brian Perry Charitable Trust Undergraduate Scholarship in Science & Engineering was established by the Perry Foundation in 1999 with the first scholarships awarded for 2000. The scholarships shall be awarded each year by the University of Waikato Scholarships Committee, on the recommendation of the Selection Panel. The Selection Panel will consist of a representative of the Brian Perry Charitable Trust, a representative of the University of Waikato Scholarships Committee, the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering, and the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies in Science and Engineering, or their nominees. In any year, no scholarships may be awarded if there are insufficient applications of appropriate merit. The Brian Perry Charitable Trust Undergraduate Scholarships in Science & Engineering are open to applicants who are enrolled in the first year of a bachelor’s degree in the Faculty of Science and Engineering in the year of tenure.
-Applicants for the Scholarship must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. – Applicants should be completing their secondary schooling in the year prior to the year of tenure. In exceptional cases, the Selection Panel may consider applications from students who were not enrolled in secondary school in the preceding year. -All students wishing to be considered for the Brian Perry Charitable Trust Undergraduate Scholarship in Science & Engineering must apply on the official application form and submit this by 31 March of the year of tenure. Applicants must also submit a brief CV which addresses the criteria listed in 3 above.
