Postgraduate Research in Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources at University of Sydney, 2012 Australia

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good honors or Master degree in agriculture/science/engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in environmental hydrology. The project is to investigate the occurrence of Blue Green Algal Blooms (BGABs) in inland water storages in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). Knowledge from this research will aid in improving understanding and management of blue green algal blooms in managed and natural inland water storages, lakes and river systems

-Applicants should have knowledge in environmental modelling or applied statistics and enjoy fieldwork. -Some lab and field skills in water quality assessment of identification of blue green algae species would be an advantage. -Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens and have an Australian drivers licence.
