The position is part of a project funded by the Danish Council for Strategic Research with the objective of increasing the lifetime of gears and bearings in large wind turbines. It is an R&D project which combines specialists with backgrounds in materials science and engineering. The position covers the following tasks: Microstructural characterization and quantification of different types of advanced steels Classification of intermetallics, damage growth and damage evolution under different environmental conditions.
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in materials, applied mechanics, mechanical engineering or equivalent. We expect you have experience in microstructural and mechanical characterization of metals using advanced techniques for example SEM, TEM and X-ray tomography. Also you must be fluent in both written and oral English.
