Ecological genomics of species sorting and genotypic turnover in planktonic diatoms along strong environmental gradients. Our research group is working on the biology and evolutionary ecology of unicellular eukaryotes. We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. student to perform research on the genomic adaptation and turn-over of planktonic diatoms along eutrophication and salinity gradients. The successful candidate will work in a dedicated team and his/her research will involve a wide range of techniques: ecophysiology, bioinformatics, gene expression, genotypic and phenotypic analysis, and advanced microscopy. Part of the research will be performed in laboratories outside Belgium.
