The position is available immediately. The research activities of the project, which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), focus on the differentiation of endothelial and smooth muscle cells during biomechanically induced vascular remodelling processes (e.g. varicosis, hypertension). The PhD student will participate in the Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) “Vascular Cell Biology”, which will provide young researchers with scientific competence as well as laboratory management and communication skills. Our laboratory offers a broad range of up-to-date experimental techniques and methodological approaches, ensuring a high level of advanced scientific training
-Successful candidates should enjoy interactive teamwork in the competitive field of vascular biology and have completed a program in the life sciences (M.S., Diplom). -In-depth knowledge of modern cell and molecular biology methods would be an advantage, as well as some experience in performing animal experiments.
