The successful applicant will grow and investigate two-dimensional systems, like graphene and BN on well-controlled substrates. The research is focused on the electronic and structural properties of these systems as well as the possibility to tune the properties of these systems by different means, e.g. by chemical additives. For the experimental research different spectroscopic tools will be used at primarily the MAX IV laboratory in Lund and at the BESSY II storage ring in Berlin. The successful candidate will be located in Lund. The position will start at the earliest in March 2012. The PhD position is for four years
The applicant is expected to have a Master’s degree in physics, or equivalent. The application should include a statement of research interest, CV, and a verified list of course grades. Experience of synchrotron radiation techniques is considered a merit. If available, a Master’s thesis (finished or in draft form) can also be included.
