The appointed candidate must have a Master degree or equivalent in geology with a good background in sedimentology. Previous field experience is important and experience from the arctic or other remote areas is an advantage Good oral and written skills in English are important. Note that the field work will require camping in the High Arctic, and strenuous hiking partly in steep terrain. Admission to the doctoral program at one of the Norwegian mainland universities is a condition for employment in the position as PhD student. The final plan for researcher education must be approved and a contract signed with the mainland University at the latest six months after commencement. The application will be prepared by the candidate in close collaboration with the supervisor.
