PhD Position in Radiation Biology at DTU in Denmark , 2014

Applications are invited for PhD position in the field of radiation biology at the Hevesy Laboratory, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Applicants will be working with Dr. Torsten Groesser under the leadership of Prof. Mikael Jensen and Dr. Dennis Ringkjøbing Elema in an interdisciplinary group of physicists, chemists, and biologists. The period of employment is three years. To be eligible, the candidate should have a master’s degree in science preferably with a background in biology or physics and good English language skills. She/he should be interested in fundamental research in the field of radiation biology, in particular in the area of cell and DNA damage induction and repair using microscopy and flow cytometry techniques. The work will include addressing questions concerning low dose and low dose rate effects after exposure to sparsely ionizing radiation such as g-rays, X-rays and photons as well as Auger-electron emitters. Experience with standard cell culture techniques would be preferable.The candidate will be working with Dr. Torsten Groesser under the leadership of Prof. Mikael Jensen and Dr. Dennis Ringkjøbing Elema (Head of Division) in an interdisciplinary group of physicists, chemists, and biologists..  Position is awarded for pursuing PhD programme at The Hevesy Laboratory at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
