PhD Position in Medieval History at University of Bergen in Norway

The Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies and Religion (AHKR) is offering a PhD position in medieval history at University of Bergen. The Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies and Religion (AHKR) is a vacant PhD in medieval history with the appointment as soon as possible. The position is linked to “The Research Group in medieval studies” within the project Urban topography, where the overall goal is to investigate middle Malde’s urban society in a European perspective.  The successful candidate host admitted to the PhD program at the University of Bergen. The successful student score you have to have their daily work at the University of Bergen, Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies and Religion, and abide by the guidelines that apply at any given time the position. Fellow’s main goal is to lead to a PhD degree which qualifies for independent research activities and other work that requires serleg expertise. Total employment period is four years. Education and research section of the score constitutes three years and teaching / research administrative work constitutes up to one year and host agreed with the department on appointment. Main Supervisor will usually be firm employed by the department..  Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD degree level at the Institute of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies and Religion.

Benefits of the scholarship:  Salaries start at level 50 (code 1017/LR 20/alt.8) in the State salary scale (currently: NOK 421.100, – annually). Further promotion occurs after service seniority in the position. From the gross salary will be deducted 2% members of the Public Service Pension Fund.
