The Faculty of Sciences, University of Copenhagen offers 3 PhD Fellowships in Biorefining of Plant Biomass. The positions are available for a 3-year period for applicants holding a relevant master´s degree. The successful applicant for the PhD scholarship must pass an enrolment in the Science Graduate School before the Faculty can complete the letter of employment. Three PhD fellowships are available for highly motivated candidates at The Faculty of Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The fellowships start March 1st 2014 or soonest possible thereafter. The application deadline is December 1st 2013. The 3 PhD fellowships constitute an integral part of the BIOVALUE Strategic Platform for Research and Innovation. You will enter into collaborations with senior scientists and a web of more than 30 PhD and Post Doctoral fellowships on all Universities in Denmark, along with representatives from partners from DLG, Arla, Novozymes, Haldor Topsøe A/S, Rockwool and numerous small and medium sized enterprises. The overall goal of the platform is to develop sustainable technologies for the refinement of plant material into chemical components, polymers, feed and food ingredients. The platform covers three interconnected themes in which industrial application is key: biomass production, separation technologies and biomass conversion. The vision for the work within the platform is to ensure that Denmark is one of the leading countries in the world on sustainable solutions for biorefining – driving biobased societies..  Fellowships are available for pursuing PhD degree at University of Copenhagen.
