Pacific Visiting Fellowships at Australian National University, Australia 2012-2013

Applications are invited from scholars of Pacific or South Sea Islander ancestry for three month fellowships in 2012-13 as part of the ARC Laureate project led by Professor Margaret Jolly, Engendering Persons, Transforming Things: Christianities, Commodities and Individualism in Oceania. This project is researching these questions comparatively across the region of Oceania. Applicants should provide a full cv, contact details of three referees and a three page proposal for research and writing which fits within the parameters of the overall project.

A PhD or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the project (e.g. anthropology, history, politics, geography, cultural studies, Pacific studies, gender studies, humanities, visual arts) and a good record of relevant publications. Pacific ancestry as self-identified and regardless of current residence. Demonstrated collegial capacity to work as part of our research team of staff and graduate students and willingness to participate in project seminars, workshops, conference events and interact with undergraduate students. Capacity to address a cross-disciplinary audience and a broader public in writing, oral presentations and/or performances. A developed three page proposal for research and writing (including a short bibliography) which fits within the parameters of the overall project. Knowledge of ANU policies of diversity and inclusion and willingness to apply them in practice.
