Marie-Curie ITN CATSENSE PhD Research Positions for International Applicants, 2014

Marie-Curie ITN CATSENSE is inviting applications for 6 PhD research positions from early stage researchers in Belgium, UK, Italy, Denmark, Israel and Spain. Applicants of any nationality who have a master’s degree are eligible. English language proficiency is required. Fellowship includes gross salary, year plus a mobility allowance of ca. Positions will be starting from of April 1st 2014. The first closing date for receipt of applications will be December 1, 2013.. Catsense, whose goal is to design novel high performance catalysts and biosensors based on deposited mass-selected clusters assisted by computational theoretical screening, is a new FP7-ITN-Marie Curie European training project in nanotechnology that will start in January 2014. It brings together 10 world leading partners in Belgium, UK, Italy, Denmark, Israel and Spain and will offer a total of 12 Early Stage Research (ESR) PhD positions for 36 months and 2 Experienced Researcher (ER) positions for 24 months. Its innovative concept is to consider metal clusters science as a new emerging supra-disciplinary field bridging (electro) catalysis (directly applicable to fuel cell technology) and biosensing technologies that are of growing strategic importance to the global economy. Catsense is multi-disciplinary project collaboration between state-of-the-art laboratories and industries that will merge physics, chemistry, computational quantum chemistry, and biosciences. Its training programme is to provide each ESR and ER employed in the network with a unique set of cross-cutting expertise & skills, as demanded by employers in nanoscience & nanotechnology.. Positions are open for PhD research program.
The research areas of this scholarship are: Positions are available in the fields of nanotechnology, physics, chemistry and Bio sciences.
Who can apply to this scholarship? Eligible candidates may be of any nationality but must not, at the time of recruitment have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of their host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 last years immediately prior to the reference date. • Candidates must be, at the time of recruitment by the host organization, in the first four years (full
