PIER Helmholtz Graduate School is inviting applications for up to six available PhD scholarships to conduct scientific research. Scholarships are awarded in the following research fields: Particle and Astroparticle Physics, Nanoscience, Photon Science, Infection and Structural Biology and the competence fields Accelerators and Theoretical Physics. The 3-year scholarships encompass a basic monthly allowance as well as a start-up allowance, expenses for travel, workshops and conferences. The application deadline is 1 December 2014.. Herz Foundation awards full scholarships to outstanding young scientists. Up to now the foundation supports 10 young researchers from India, China, Greece, Turkey and Germany who have succeeded in a multistage selection procedure. In addition to a monthly allowance, the scholarship provides grants for initial requirements and language courses as well as funds for participation in international conferences, stays at a research lab and for jointly organizing a PhD workshop.. · Outstanding master’s degree in physics, chemistry, biology, other science subjects, or in mathematics or medicine.
· Social involvement.
· Identification with the values and principles of the Joachim Herz Foundation.
· They also welcome applications from students who are currently nearing the completion of their studies and expect to complete these with very good results.
