ICMR International Fellowships for Indian Biomedical Scientists, 2015-2016

Applications are invited for ICMR international fellowships from Indian biomedical scientists to conduct research at foreign Institute. Up to 12 fellowships to young scientists for the duration ranging from 3 to 6 months and 6 fellowships to senior scientists for 10-15 days depending on the need of the approved programme will be awarded. Applicants must hold M.D/PhD degree with at least three years teaching/research experience to apply as young scientists and at least fifteen years to apply as senior scientists. The application deadline is 10th March, 2015.. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is the premier national agency for the formulation, promotion and conduct of biomedical research in India. The mandate and policies of the ICMR coincide with national health policies. The Council not only plans and promotes medical research in the current and emerging health problems of the country but also is expected to build a strong national cadre of skilled biomedical scientists. One of the major mandates of the Council is to augment capacity strengthening of institutions involved in both basic and clinical sciences. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites applications from Indian biomedical scientists for the international fellowships for the year 2015-16.. Fellowships are available for scientists to conduct research at foreign Institute.

Who can apply to this scholarship? M.D/PhD degree with at least three years teaching/research experience for young scientists and at least fifteen years for senior scientists
· Regular position in a recognized biomedical/research/health institution in India
· Below 45 years of age for young and 57 years for senior scientists
Benefits of the scholarship: -US$ 3000 per month, contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare) for young scientists -US$ 200 per day (including US$ 75 as per diem and US$ 125 is for accommodation), contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare) for senior scientists
