A position as research associate/postdoc is offered in the Institute for Materials Research (IMO) jointly by the Polymer Reaction Design group (Organic and Bio-Polymer Chemistry) and the Biosensors group (Material Physics, Dr. Anitha Ethirajan). The project aims at fabrication of novel nanomaterials via heterophase techniques in combination with state-of-the-art polymer synthesis. To reach this aim, polymer reactions will be designed with special emphasis on their later use to form custom-made nanoparticles. Additionally, the position entails organizational duties in the research groups, supervision of bachelor and master thesis projects as well as co-guidance of PhD students.
-The candidate is expected to perform research in the area of synthetic polymer chemistry as well as colloid chemistry. -Candidates will have a doctoral degree in chemistry or a related discipline with profound experience in the area of polymer synthesis and characterization or emulsion techniques to obtain functional nanoparticles. -Candidates who are in the final stage of their PhD and will defend their thesis until October will also be considered for the position
