In preparation for the University’s 50th anniversary in 2015, Kent has established an additional 100 doctoral scholarships to be awarded annually from 2012. Known as Kent’s 50th Anniversary Scholars, successful candidates will demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding research potential. This scholarship is available to UK, EU and overseas students and will cover tuition fees plus a maintenance bursary of approximately £13,590. The scholarship will be offered for one year in the first instance, renewable for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. It is also expected that during the second and third years of the scholarship, recipients will undertake about four hours teaching per week as Graduate Teaching Assistants.
The scholarship competition is open to postgraduate research applicants who have applied for or are applying to the School of History for entry in the academic year starting September 2012 Candidates must hold a master’s degree (merit or distinction) in a relevant subject.
