Research at IMCH focuses on maternal and reproductive health as well as child health and nutrition in low income settingsThe PhD research project is part of a larger research project in collaboration with ICDDR,B Bangladesh. The study started with a group of pregnant women and now we will follow-up on their 10 year old children. The aim of the project is to evaluate how nutrition interventions in pregnancy affect nutrition and metabolic status in the children with a larger perspective how this may relate to risk factors of health and disease in adult life. The project will involve fieldwork in rural Bangladesh.The holder of a PhD-student position shall primarily devote her/his time to own research studies. Other departmental work, such as educational or administrative can be part of the position (max 20 %).
We are looking for a person with a degree in science, preferably within medical related field, and with a Master degree in Global health. Knowledge about epidemiological and bio-statistical research methods as well as experience in analysing large survey data are desirable. Priority is given to those with a previous experience in nutritional epidemiological work in low income settings. The job requires good English language skills.
