2012 HSF/Achievement Scholarship at Community College, USA

The HSF/Achievement Scholarship Program is a scholarship available to current high school seniors residing in Colorado or Texas who will begin their studies at a community college with the intent to transfer to a four-year institution. Awards are $1,250 for the 2012-2013 academic year. Selected students may receive $1250 for their second year in community college; $2500/year for three years at a four-year institution. Total five years of awards per student of a possible $10,000

-Be of Hispanic heritage Be a U.S. Citizen, legal permanent resident or eligible non-U.S. citizen -Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale. -Must graduate from high school in 2011-2012 Must have a permanent address in Denver (CO) or Central Texas (priority given to graduates from Del Valle ISD) -Must plan to transfer to a four-year institution after two years at the community college (Preference for University of Colorado, Denver and Texas State University, San Marcos) -Awardees will be invited to attend a summer orientation program in 2012 -Preference given to Pell-eligible and 1st generation students
