Four or Five Academic Fellowships are available that offer unique opportunities for training in academic aspects of general practice, and are ideal for GPs at an early stage of career development contemplating an academic career. Applicants will ideally have some experience in research (although this is not required), and longer term career development will be a central aim of each post. The posts are available for one year and are suitable for applicants who have or are due to complete their CCT training in 2012. During the one year post successful applicants will gain new skill and develop their research ideas into a formal research proposal. They will also be expected to retain a minimal clinical commitment.
Applicants may apply for posts in any or all of the five participating universities but should state their order of preference if more than one university would be considered. -The candidate’s preference for full or part time hours will also be considered. -Interviews will be held April 2012 at the Scottish School of Primary Care centre at the University of Dundee.
