The interdisciplinary Research Group Cultures of Mobility in Europe. Past and Present Trajectories of Traveling Communities (COME) at the Institute for Cultural Anthropology/Folkloristics (JProf. Dr. Anna Lipphardt) is accepting applications for one post-doc position (100% TVL E13) for one and a half years and two doctoral positions (50% TVL E13) for three years, with a possible extension. Both start in October, 2011. The research group COME explores practices of mobility in Europe by investigating minorities with mobile traditions and mobile professional milieus. We welcome empirical and historical case studies on specific mobile groups, which address COMEs core research questions.
-We welcome applications by candidates with MA and doctorate degrees in Cultural Anthropology and related disciplines who have experience in: 1. qualitative research methods and 2. the fields of migration, mobility, transnationalism, or minority studies. -Working languages are German and English. -Candidates of all nationalities are welcome; our work is conducted in Freiburg.
